Why You Should Never Use Fabric Softener on Performance Scrubs
Share
This might sound counterintuitive, but for GEGIX’s high-performance fabrics, fabric softener is actually an 'enemy.'
Fabric softener works by coating the fiber surface with a thin, waxy film. For a regular cotton T-shirt, this makes it soft; but for scrubs with 'moisture-wicking' functions, this film clogs the pores of the fibers, causing the fabric to lose breathability and preventing sweat from escaping.
Long-term use of softener can also lead to fabric weight gain, odor buildup, and reduced color vibrancy. Want to maintain your scrubs' performance? A simple mild detergent is the best choice.
