Scrub Care 101: How to Wash and Dry Your Uniforms for Longevity

You've invested in high-quality custom scrubs; the next steps in care determine whether they last 6 months or 2 years. Here are the care recommendations from the GEGIX lab:

1. Separate Laundry: Wash your scrubs separately from ordinary clothes with sharp zippers or metal buttons to prevent snagging the fine fabric.

2. Cold Water Wash: Unless severely contaminated, water at 30-40°C is sufficient for cleaning. High-temperature water is the primary cause of fabric shrinkage and loss of elasticity.

3. Wash Inside Out: This small trick effectively prevents wear and tear on embroidered names and the fabric surface caused by the washing machine drum.

4. Low Temperature Drying: High-temperature drying damages the elasticity of spandex fibers. If possible, choose low heat or air dry.
