Ironing vs. Steaming: Maintaining a Professional Edge Without Damaging Fibers
Share
Although GEGIX fabrics have excellent wrinkle resistance, some nurses seek a minimalist, sharp visual effect. Which tool should you choose?
Recommended: Steamer. Steam relaxes fibers without direct high-heat contact, making it ideal for synthetic fabrics containing spandex and rayon. It not only removes wrinkles but also aids in sanitizing.
Use with Caution: Flat Iron. If you must use an iron, be sure to set it to 'Synthetic' or 'Low Heat' and cover the garment with a thin cloth. Direct high-heat contact can melt synthetic fibers, causing the fabric to shine or shrink.
Maintaining a sharp appearance is the first step in building patient trust, but safe care is equally important.
