How to Measure for Custom Scrubs: A Step-by-Step Guide
Share
At GEGIX, we believe that without good data, there is no good customization. A perfect set of scrubs starts with precise body measurements. Today, we’ll walk you through how to complete accurate measurements at home or in the locker room.
Tools Needed:
- A soft measuring tape
- A friend to help (standing straight is key for accuracy)
- Lightweight, close-fitting clothing (do not measure over a heavy sweater)
Core Steps:
1. Shoulder Width: Measure from the outer edge of the left shoulder bone to the right. This is key to ensuring you don't feel restricted when stretching your arms.
2. Chest: Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, keeping it level. Do not hold your breath.
3. Waist (Natural Waistline): Find the narrowest part of your torso, usually above the belly button. This is where your scrub pants should sit.
4. Hips: Stand straight and wrap the tape around the widest part of your hips. For nurses who squat frequently, this measurement is vital.
5. Inseam: Measure from the very bottom of the crotch along the inside of the leg to where you want the hem to stop.
Once measured, enter them into your GEGIX Body Profile. We will manually adjust the patterns based on this data to ensure every inch of fabric is made for you.
